Robert Mugabe was born in Kutama, Zimbabwe, in 1924. Robert Mugabe is the current President of Zimbabwe. Robert Mugabe was involved in the struggle against the government of Rhodesia, when he was the Secretary General of the Zimbabwe African National Union. Robert Mugabe was eventually arrested by the government of Rhodesia for 10 years. In 1980 he became the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, and in 1987 he became the President of Zimbabwe, a post he has held ever since.

Morgan Tsvangirai was born in Gutu, Zimbabwe, in 1952. Morgan Tsvangirai was the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe. Morgan Tsvangirai ran in the 2002 presidential elections and lost to Robert Mugabe. Morgan Tsvangirai ran again in the 2008 presidential elections and won the first round of voting, but he retired in the second round, because the election process had gotten very violent and there were doubts over fair elections. In a power sharing deal he was named Prime Minister in 2009, however this position was abolished in 2013.
