Current Situation

Sierra Leone is located in West Africa. Sierra Leone is bordered by Guinea and Liberia. Sierra Leone's economy suffered greatly from the civil war that ended in 2000. The growth rate is high and as long as stability is maintained, it promises to keep growing. The largest sector is the mining sector, Sierra Leone is rich in mineral resources, notably diamonds.

(2013) Economic growth has jumped in 2012 due to increased activity in Sierra Leone's energy sector.

(2014) Although high economic growth continued in 2013, it is expected to have been negatively impacted by the outbreak of ebola in 2014, which revealed the many challenges still facing Sierra Leone.
