Current Situation

Rwanda is located in East-Central Africa. It is bordered by Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania and Uganda. Rwanda's economy was deeply affected by the 1994 genocide. Rwanda's economy is based primarily on agriculture. The tourism sector is however growing in importance and promises to continue this trend, and will bring in much needed foreign spending.

(2014) Rwanda's strong economic growth continued in 2013 and is expected to continue into 2014, however Rwanda has a lot of ground to cover in order to lift its population out of poverty.
