Biography:


Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj was born in Zereg, Mongolia, in 1963. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj is the current President of Mongolia. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj studied at the Military Political Institute of the USSR located in Kiev, Ukraine, he also studied at Harvard University. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj was involved in a Mongolia's democratic movement that led the transition when the Soviet Union collapsed and shook confidence in the Mongolian Communist regime.

Before becoming president he served two terms as the Prime Minister of Mongolia the first in 1998 and the second from 2004 to 2006. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj was elected president following the 2009 presidential elections.
