Current Situation

Malta is located in Southern Europe. Malta is an island in the middle of Mediterranean Sea, it is about 100km's south of Italy. Malta has a very high GDP per capita. Malta's main industries are tourism, port services and manufacturing. Tourism will experience an increase thanks to Malta joining the Schengen agreement, making it easier for tourists from inside the EU to visit the island. Malta has also adopted the Euro recently.

(2014) Malta's economy continued to grow at a higher than average rate for the Eurozone in 2013 and as other economies in the group continue to recover growth in Malta will accelerate. A new President of Malta was also elected in early 2014.
