Current Situation

Malawi is located in Southeast Africa. Malawi is bordered by Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia. Malawi has one of the lowest GDP's per capita in the world. Malawi's government is working on reducing corruption, dealing with a HIV/AIDS problem and also is trying to develop a market economy.

(2014) Malawi's economy continues to benefit from a relatively high growth rate, however it still faces enormous challenges in order to reduce poverty. Malawi's economy depends almost entirely on agriculture and the government receives most of its revenues through foreign aid. Peter Mutharika became the president in May 2014.
