Park Geun-hye was born in Taegu, South Korea, in 1952. Park Geun-hye is the current President of South Korea and the first woman to hold this post. Park Geun-hye studied at Sogang University. Park Geun-hye's father was Park Chun-hee a former President of South Korea who was assassinated. Park Geun-hye was first elected to Korea's Assembly in 1998. Park Geun-hye served in the assembly until 2012 when she did not seek re-election to the Assembly in order to work on her presidential bid. Park Geun-hye was elected as the next President of South Korea on December 19th 2012.

Then he ran in the 2007 presidential elections and won these also.
