Biography:


Epeli Nailatikau was born in 1941. Epeli Nailatikau is the current President of Fiji.

Epeli Nailatikau began his working career in the military first serving in New Zealand's armed forces, then returning to Fiji and eventually rising to the rank of Brigadier-General and commander of the Royal Fiji Army. Epeli Nailatikau lost this position following a coup.

Epeli Nailatikau then began a diplomatic career and eventually became ambassador to the United Kingdom, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Israel and the Vatican. Epeli Nailatikau started his political career in 2001, first as Speaker of the House of Representatives and also Minister of Foreign Affairs. Epeli Nailatikau became president in 2009, when the previous president Josefa Iloilo retired.

Biography:


Frank Bainimarama was born in Kiuva, Fiji, in 1954. Frank Bainimarama is the current Prime Minister of Fiji. He began his military career in the navy in 1975 and rose from a non-commissioned member into a Commodore. He is the current commander of Fijian Military Forces.

Before being named interim prime minister he held several ministerial posts and headed a military coup in 2000. Frank Bainimarama was elected as the Prime Minister of Fiji following elections in 2014.
