Milos Zeman was born in Kolin, Czech Republic, in 1944. Milos Zeman is the third and current President of the Czech Republic. He studied at the University of Economics in Prague.. During the communist years Zeman tried joining the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia but was expelled due to a difference of opinion.

Milos Zeman would only rejoin politics once democracy returned. He would go on to eventually serve as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic from 1998 to 2002. Milos Zeman was elected as the President of the Czech Republic in March 2013.

Bohuslav Sobotka joined politics in 1996 when he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies. He eventually became the Finance Minister of the Czech Republic from 2002 until 2006. Bohuslav Sobotka became the chairman of the Social Democratic Party in 2011 and he lead his party to a strong showing in the 2013 elections. His party failed to create the next government however, but following some controversy he was eventually allowed to form a coalition in 2014.

Jiri Rusnok was named caretaker Prime Minister on July 10 2013, amid oppositions from the politic parties in the Czech Chamber of Deputies.
