Biography:


Catherine Samba-Panza was born in N'Djamana, Chad, in 1954. Catherine Samba-Panza is the current President of the Central African Republic. Catherine Samba-Panza studied law at the Pantheon-Assas University in Paris.


Following the overthrow of the previous government of Francois Bozize, Catherine Samba-Panza was selected as the new Mayor of Bangui. In January 2014 she was selected as one of the candidates for the presidency and she was eventually succesful in this bid, becoming the Central African Republic's President in a turbulent time.

Biography:


Michel Djotodia was born in Vakage, Central African Republic, in 1949. He is the current President of the Central African Republic. Djotodia worked most of his career as a civil servant. In 2006 he help found the Union of Democratic Forces for Unity rebel group against the government of the Central African Republic.


Following an attempt to create a unity government by the previous government of Francois Bozize which included members of the opposition and also rebels, the rebels continued to capture cities from the government despite this. In March 2013 the rebels suceeded in capturing the capital Bangui and eventually installed a new government lead by Djotodia.

Francois Bozize was born in Mouila, Gabon, in 1946. Francois Bozize was the President of the Central African Republic. Bozize is a career soldier, he attended a military college in the Central African Republic, and moved up steadily through the ranks to eventually become Brigadier General in 1978. Eventually he served has the Minister of Defense and eventually he was named as the army's Chief of Staff. He was also actively involved in most of the political developments of the Central African Republic, notably several coups.


In 2001 he became at odds with the then President Ange-Felix Patasse, he then led a rebellion and eventually seized power in 2003. Francois Bozize eventually won elections in 2005. The next elections set for April 2010 have yet to materialize. Bozize won the elections in 2011, but was eventually overthrown following a rebellion that culminated in the capture of the capital in March 2013.
