Charles Michel was born in Namur, Belgium, in 1975. Charles Michel is the current Prime Minister of Belgium. Charles Michel studied at the University libre de Bruxelles and also at the University of Amsterdam.


Charles Michel has been involved in politics since he was a teenager, being elected to his first political office at the age of 18, Charles Michel was elected to the Chamber of Representatives in 1999, and he also became the youngest cabinet minister in Belgian history the next year at the age of 25. Charles Michel served in important ministerial posts in several governments and in 2011 he became the leader of the Reformist Movement.

Charles Michel was selected as the next Prime Minister of Belgium on October 11th 2014 when he was able to form a coalition with 3 other political parties.

Elio Di Rupo was born in Morlanwelz, Belgium, in 1951. Elio Di Rupo was the Prime Minister of Belgium. Elio Di Rupo studied at the University of Mons-Hainaut.


Elio Di Rupo was involved in municipal politics and provincial politics before joining federal politics. He became the Leader of the Socialist Party in 1999. Elio Di Rupo formed a new coalition government on December 6 2011 and subsequently became the Prime Minister of Belgium. Elio Di Rupo was replaced as Belgium Prime Minister in October 2014 by Charles Michel.

Yves Leterme was born in Wervik, Belgium, in 1960. Yves Leterme was the Prime Minister of Belgium. Yves Leterme obtained a law degree in 1981, a degree in political science in 1983, a master's degree in law in 1984 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1985. Before entering politics he was a civil servant.

Yves Leterme was elected for the first time to the House of Representatives in 1997. Yves Leterme later became Minister-President of Flanders in 2004. In 2008 he served his first stint has Belgian Prime Minister. One of his goals was constitutional reform, to decentralize the state's power and give more to the regions, however he failed in this. He resigned when the intended sale of nationalized bank Fortis to BNP Paribas failed and the government was sued by shareholders.

Yves Leterme became Prime Minister again in 2009, but one of the coalition members withdrew their support on April 22th 2010, and he again offered his resignation to the king.

Herman Van Rompuy first joined the Senate, and then in 1995 he was elected to the house of representatives. He served in several ministerial positions before becoming the Prime Minister of Belgium in 2008.
