Biography:


Serzh Sargsyan was born in Stepanakert, Nagarno-Karabakh in 1954. Serzh Sargsyan studied at Yerevan State University. His early career includes several political posts in the Nagarno-Karabakh region. When war broke out in 1988, he played a leading role in the war and planned several battles. In 1993 he became Armenia's defense minister, he held similar posts until he became prime minister in 2007.


In 2008 Serzh Sargsyan was elected President of Armenia, he won in the first round of voting with 53% of the votes. After his victory opposition parties and their supporters held large protests in the capital Yerevan, the government cracked down on these protests with swift brutality and 8 people were killed. Afterwards he agreed that the government should stop cracking down on opposition parties.

Serzh Sargsyan was reelected as the President of Armenia in 2013 in elections that were disputed by his opponents as being rigged.

Hovik Abrahamyan was born in Mkhchyan, Armenia in 1958, Hovik Abrahamyan studied at the Armenian State University of Economics. Hovik Abrahamyan became a member of Armenia's parliament in 1995.

Hovik Abrahamyan served in several high level posts before being named Prime Minister of Armenia in April 2014 by President Serzh Sargsyan. Hovik Abrahamyan is also known for owning multiple businesses within Armenia and is sometimes accused of abusing his influence in order to advance his business interests.
